Give Dairy

Local food pantries get plenty of canned goods, but what about a good, old-fashioned gallon of milk? See why Heartland is supporting Adopt a Dairy Cow, a new program that brings fresh Wisconsin dairy products to the families who need it most.

This is a great way for HCU to be involved and help solve a problem in our communities. The Adopt a Dairy Cow is one of the best ideas I’ve heard of to help get milk to those in need. Thank you HCU for this opportunity to partner and help with a growing problem in WI.

As a child growing up on a farm, I know the abundance of resources available on a farm. I remember the fresh milk and layer of cream in our bulk tank, provided by our dairy cattle that my family relished. I applaud Adopting a Dairy Cow and the opportunity for purchasing milk for those that need it, is such a great partnership, such a great way of giving.

Eye opening video! I’m a long time HCU member but currently live in Waupaca County. Just called my local food pantry and they would also love to receive fresh milk donations. Who knew? Thank you for bringing this important need to my attention. I’m making a milk delivery Monday morning.

It’s a good story, but I didn’t hear anything about if you get visitation rights if you adopt a cow?

Thanks for posting that video. Like the woman in the story, it never dawned on me to donate milk to a food pantry. I will definitely be giving now! Thanks Heartland for making me aware of the issue, and of a way to help out.

This was a wonderful video and I really didn’t think of this either until hearing the shortage of dairy products to the food pantries. To adopt a cow is a beautiful idea and doesn’t cost anything for someone to furnish the needed milk for these pantries. Just a commitment to help the less fortunate and supporting our local farmer.

Thank you for sharing this video and the wonderful thought and a beautiful way for others to donate and contribute to these pantries.
