What an amazing program! I have always appreciated MGE’s emphasis on making sure citizens have access to education about energy savings and conservation as well as the support to take action. While community involvement is fantastic, this goes above and beyond. Way to go MGE, I appreciate everything you do for the Madison community. Great video!

We had an energy assessment done on our (then 40 year old) home when we first moved in several years ago. It was a bit disheartening to see all the gaps, but it gave us a map to follow over time. We sealed small energy losing spaces (like light fixtures) early, and when large things needed to be done – like replacing the roof – we made sure we used what we knew to help us make sure the attic was well insulated when it was easy to get to it. One step at a time….

It is great that MG&E is working with Energy Services and Project Home to improve the quality of life for so many in our community. I am quite familiar Project Home. I’m glad this story has brought some attention to all the good work they do.

This program should be expanded to as many people as possible. And MGE should work with apartment owners to provide the same assistance to apartment dwellers, encouraging owners to do upgrades to windows, insulation and Energy Efficient HVAC equipment. This is a very important area in Madison and would make a significant difference. Thanks for this program.

It is so encouraging to know that MGE can assist customers who need to improve their quality of living with referrals to Energy Services and Project Home. The improvements that were made without charge to the home in the video were amazing. MGE is truly serving the community in the best ways possible, and in the months ahead many will greatly benefit from these programs.

What a heartwarming story!
Love that there are great organizations helping great families in the community! It really shows that people want to do the right things, but that sometimes we need help doing it. Energy efficiency in the home is the best place to start for MG&E and their customers, and Project Home is a fantastic partner in this endeavor.
Keep up the good work!

It’s great to hear MGE offers this program! Watching this video also gave me some ideas for making my home warmer/more energy efficient. I’ll remember the info and pass it on to some other people I think will benefit from it. A lot of people don’t know how easy it is to make improvement or get assistance.

What a great program! I wish more people would take advantage of a program such as this. It can help them save money, add value to their home and protect the environment. This is not only good for the families involved, but everyone else benefits too!
People also should be aware there are similar programs available from Focus on Energy that are available for everyone regardless of income.

I think it’s very sad that these first-time home buyers were not properly advised of the lack of insulation in their new home. Conversely, I think it’s great that MG&E was able to help this family with their heat bill problems. I did not know that your Project Hom included all of the services that it does. Very nice, informative video!!!!
