Madison has a strange and morbid connection to rock and roll history. Some 40 years ago, the plane carrying rising star Otis Redding and his band plunged into icy Lake Monona.

There was only one survivor and the anniversary brought that man, Ben Cauley, back to Madison for the first time in four decades. It was his first glimpse at Lake Monona since the crash.
